We fail to fully know ourselves, because we fail to explore fear, uncertainty, and discomfort in its many forms. Fifty percent of life involves dealing with fear. If you want to be comfortable at all times, then you must learn to embrace discomfort. Identify fear by its name, and it loses its power over you. The name of fear is Fear.
Michael Ray Taylor
Pain. I fear you. You are tangible. Your existence validates my reality.
Failure. I fear you. You cripple me. You have the ability to end a battle before it begins. A single thought of you is enough to manifest a lifetime of your presence.
Self. I fear you. My biggest critic, and my number one fan. When I need you at your best, you give me your worst. Selfish, needy, incessant, and ever-present.
Love. You scare me. I cannot possess you without revealing my full self. I give you my self, and receive rejection in return.
Success. Happiness. Joy. Peace. I fear you. Too much of you is not sustainable. The thought of losing you makes my heart ache.
FEAR. I fear you the most. You are omniscient. Even when your presence is not felt, there you are, lurking in the shadows, always ready to do your work. A skilled illusionist, you distort reality with infinite lies. You are the catalyst to pain and the inhibitor of joy.
Fear. You cannot be outrun, only faced. Your illusions are more powerful than your reality. When I call you by your name, your illusions shatter before me. You cannot touch me. You can only confuse me.
We have not to fear anything, except fear itself.
Julius Caesar
Fear. What are you keeping me from? What’s behind the veil? My curiosity of what lies beyond you, is stronger than my fear of your illusions. On the other side of fear lies the pieces of me I seek to explore. I choose to wonder no more. I choose to know.
